Andrew Ballentine

I have been drawing and making finger paintings ever since I can remember, but the first time I genuinely started to think about art is when I began working with polymer clay at the age of nine. All of my work focused on fictional characters or people, and from there on, that would be the main subject of my work. A few years later at thirteen I picked up drawing after seeing people draw characters online, and at school. Since then drawing with graphite became one of my go to mediums to use. I would take art classes in high school, and my senior year is when I decided to specifically pursue art.

I would eventually apply to Edinboro university for studio arts in which I got accepted. I’ve completed my first year of school and so far I’ve liked it. Over that time, I started learning about basic techniques as well as different artist.

Over summer break I’ve began to experiment with my art and researching famous artists and their styles to try and develop my own style. I’ve lately been inspired by artists such as Francis Bacon, Jean Micheal Basquiat, Frida Karlo, and Pablo Picasso.

I’m always open to meeting other artists to see what mediums and techniques they use.
